Sharyn Sullivan came to the Queensland private bar in November 2021 following a long corporate career in the insurance industry.

After completing a Bachelor of Arts majoring in journalism at the University of Southern Queensland and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) at the Queensland University of Technology, Sharyn qualified as a solicitor in 1997.

She represented both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury claims in private practice,  before moving into the corporate sector where she worked in management roles at both WorkCover Queensland and Suncorp.

Over an almost 20-year career at Suncorp her roles included the Head of CTP Claims where she was responsible for the strategic direction of the national CTP claims business across QLD, NSW, SA and ACT.  She was also the Executive Manager of the QLD CTP Claims business for many years.

Sharyn’s diverse experience in the insurance sector means that she is well placed to offer strategic and pragmatic advice to clients who are involved in personal injury litigation whether as plaintiffs or defendants, as she has a unique insight into the factors which influence outcomes.

Sharyn’s practice is focused largely on personal injuries compensation including CTP, worker’s compensation and public liability claims, including historical institutional abuse, as well as some family law matters.
