About Andrew

Andrew has 34 years of experience in the law having been a Barrister for 27 years. 

Andrew is an Accredited Mediator under the National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS) and mediates a range of matters including personal injuries, general insurance, and pastoral responses for church bodies.

He is a Panel member of The National Appeals and Reviews Panel – Australian Catholic Safeguarding Limited (a body to review investigative process and findings in respect of complaints of sexual abuse brought under the National Response Protocol).  

Andrew has a diverse practice with an emphasis on personal injuries – workplace injuries (common law and statutory claims including under the Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 (Qld) and its predecessors and the Safety Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1998 (C’Wlth)), motor vehicle (CTP), occupier’s liability, intentional torts and similar – and general insurance including acting for insurers (including indemnity and fraud matters).

He is a long serving panel Barrister for WorkCover Queensland and the Workers Compensation Regulator and regularly acts for the State of Queensland. Andrew has a balanced practice of claimant/plaintiff and respondent/defendant work. 

Andrew is a Mentor for QUT Law Faculty (with nomination as Mentor of the Year) and regular presenter for Queensland Bar Practice Course and Leo Cussen Centre for Law.
